Messing With Video

Okay, the new camera I have been experimenting with has a video function. That of course means that I must learn and experiment with this new ability in order to master it. Of course this means that you all are going to be subjected to bad videos once in awhile until my technique and skill improves. I give you the four videos shot on the New Years weekend as examples.... First, from Dora Keogh Pub...

Toronto Photo Walks: Hair of the Dog II

Well, after a boisterous New Years Eve a walk was needed to shake the cob webs out for the start of the New Year. Thus I found myself down at Sunnyside Pavillion for the the annual Toronto Polar Bear Dip. The weather was similar to last year. Mild and rainy. Well the rain was more driving then usual. I stuck around long enough for the bodies to get in and out of the water then I boogied to the first pub stop. Same route and plan as last year. It was a decent crowd that showed up too.
I was thinking of adding some video I shot to this post. Unfortunately it's going to have to wait till next week. Have a good weekend folks.

New Years Eve

Okay, I decided to go out for once in a long time on New Years Eve. For the past years I have either stayed home or gone to a friends place. Mostly stayed home. This year a friend invited me out to a pub with a band playing. I was promised photographic opportunities. Oh, and there was no cover. Two things I like in a night out, bands, and no cover. I always find picture opportunities no matter what. The Dora Keogh seemed to have an authentic Irish set up. At least that was the reason for the low seats. The band was one I had seen down in Kensington Market on one of the Pedestrian Sundays, so I knew I was in for a treat. Met some walking friends and we had a great night. Hope the rest of the year is as good.

Toronto Photo Walks: Seasonal Lights 3

It was a cold night out. The lights were pretty but we ended up cutting the walk short and heading to the pub. There we drank beer, ate food, and compared camera tips. As well showed off techniques to fellow photographers. Every now and then we managed to capture someone who wasn't part of the group in a picture.

Sometimes I hate holidays. Especially when your rhythm gets interrupted, or you get lazy. But it's a new year and I guess I should carry on. Seasonal lights, right. So I guess it's going to be catch up from the last year until I get to this year... Still same year....oh right...
