I gotta say it, if I haven't said it before. I love shooting the CNE at night. You get to do all sorts of fun stuff with long exposures with crowds, rides, flash photography, it sometimes blows the mind. When the sun sets, and the rides light up, photographers come out to play. One person actually stopped me and asked if we were promoting Nikon gear. It turns out that no matter where he turned there were people setting Nikon cameras on tripods or on their neck straps. Us Nikon users for the group were out in force that day. Not saying it's the best camera, just the best one I had in my hand.
Okay, enough with the farm animals and stuff. The sun was starting to set and it was time to hit the Midway and check out the rides. Along the way we managed to catch the last show of the day of the Human Cannonball. Afterwards, the light was just right to start messing around with long exposures. One thing though, hot ice cream?
Okay, the air show was canceled so it was time to meet up with the group again. With incipient rain in the forecast, this needed to be done and done quickly. As well as finding some shelter to get out of the storm. It was done rather quickly, fortunately. And the shelter from the storm was the Food Building. Some of us stocked up on calories and liquids, the rest just waited. After the storm moved on we were back out again wandering the Ex, looking for picture opportunities, just waiting for the sun to set. Of course we also had to check out the animals in the Farm Building.
