Toronto Photo Walks: Graffiti Alley
I returned once again on Saturday with the usual collection of hobbiests to Graffiti Alley. I have been there before and looked at all the graffiti so I wasn't expecting things to be different. They weren't really, but there were changes. Some subtle, others not so subtle. It seems to be one of those areas that gradually morphs into different things. Anyway. We started from Richmond and Spadina and walked our way west into the alley. Me, I tried to focus more on my fellow photographers rather then the alley, mostly at least.

July Flickr Meetup
Well I am tapped out with Jedi, Sith, and light sabers, so I will go back a week or so and look at "normal" folks. End of July and our usual Flickr meetup of cameras, people, and whatever else we can do. This time it was at Betty's down at King and Sherbourne. Patio weather is always nice for these things. I also enjoy them because of the people you meet and the different philosophies on shooting pictures. Speaking of which....

See you all next week.

Toronto Light Saber Battle...Part 4
Remember...shooting in low light for those awesome light trails, use flash and have a slow shutter speed. The flash freezes the main target on the sensor and everything else happens next....

Toronto Light Saber Battle...Part 3
The best part of the battle were the interesting people around.

I think this guy's name is Conan, seriously....
The ewok girl I saw wandering around with a stick jabbing at people with sabers going "eek, eek, eek, eek." I followed one battle where she "vanquished" a warrior.

There were a few other people around as well in costume.

Tomorrow will conclude with lots of action and funky blurs.

Toronto Light Saber Battle...Part 2
Well, lines were drawn, weapons raised, and the fight was on.

Even the terrible thunder lizards looked on in awe...

And The fury of the battle seemed to take to the building above the street...

Toronto Light Saber Battle...
Well Saturday night was fun. One of those wacky flash mob type of things. A bunch of people getting together to do some fun stuff on the city streets. This time the destination was the Royal Ontario Museum. The north side by the Crystal expansion. Rather fitting actually for what was going on. It was a start time of 9 PM so I was there a little early. I got out of the subway station and it was starting to rain. I hoped that it wouldn't pour, and shortly the rain stopped. Just in time for people to arrive to get there weapons and prepare to show what good vs. evil is all about. Or the other way if you were on the dark side.

Some of my friends were there. Posing for pictures and getting wound up.

Remember the girl dressed up as the Ewok. She is going to be making a return later on.
I was messing with focus, exposure, and flash all night here's three pictures to show you why. I believe that as I go on through the week you will see why having that kind of control can be fun with cameras.
